Jerky, a method of preserving meat, has its origins with the ancient Incas, who called it 'ch'arki', meaning dried meat. Europeans adapted these techniques in the New World, using them to sustain explorers and traders.
Our jerky is made by marinating the venison in the same rich blend of malt vinegar, herbs, and Worcestershire sauce as our biltong, then slowly drying it in ovens. This method ensures all harmful microorganisms are eliminated, preserving the meat's nutritional integrity and flavour. The result is a softer, more tender jerky that retains the meat's rich flavours, making it a satisfying, protein-rich snack that supports an active lifestyle.
