Vinoè Salice Salentino DOC
The Puglia region is the 'heel of the boot' of Italy, blessed with huge sunshine hours a superb climate for viticulture. It's also Italy's premium region for olives and tomatoes.
The two best grapes of the region are Primitivo (aka- Zinfandel) and Negroamaro. The Salice Salentino appellation is based around the small town of Salice on the Salento peninsula, and produces deep satisfying wines with a minimum of 75% Negroamaro grapes. Typically this is blended with smaller amounts of Malvasia, Primitivo, and occasionally Aleatico.
The Vinoé Salice Salentino has a small amount of Malvasia complementing the Negroamaro core. Handpicked from bushvines, warm ferment in steel and malo completed in oak barriques. It's juicy and full, nougat and baked fruit, violets and vanilla, robust and persistent with a spicy finish.
