Vinoè Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC

Nero d'Avola takes its name from the town of Avola in south-eastern Sicily, though its actual heritage is debated between both Sicily and the Calabria region (the toe of the boot of Italy). Regardless it's best known and widely in Sicily, often as a single varietal wine.

The Vinoé wine is from the Sicilia DOP appellation, grown on calcareous clay, hand picked and warm fermented in tank before malo is completed while maturing in large 50-hectolitre oak casks. Intense ruby colour, aromas of garrigue with green and black olive, wild cherries, blackberry, subtle hint of chocolate and rich fine tannins. Classical example.
