Vinoè Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC
Vinoè is the premium line of wines from the Crea Vini family wine group, a step up in quality from the 'Castannove' range. The Montepulciano is a deep ruby red, bright floral nose, yielding abundant plum, cherry, blackberry, and boysenberry, fruit, with a vibrancy and elegance and fine ripe tannins.
The Abruzzo region is located east of Rome, half-way down the 'boot' of Italy. A rugged hilly area, dotted with lush green forests, national parks, mountain peaks in the Apennine Ranges and a long coastline. Most of the wines come from the rolling hills and plains closer to the coast.
Viticulturally they are famous first and foremost for the grape Montepulciano, the mostly widely grown variety in Abruzzo (and second most widely produced red grape in all of Italy). The DOP or DOC of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a large protected appellation, it spans a total length of 120km and 10,000 hectares of vineyards.
