Castannove Sangiovese IGP
Sangiovese is Italy's number one red grape, and while it forms the backbone of Chianti it is also widely grown across other parts of Central Italy.
The Castannove Sangiovese is grown in Abruzzo, part of the 'Terre di Chieti' IGP appellation that covers some 1800 hectares of vineyards. This is the middle tier of appellation classification (below DOC and DOCG).
Modern style of 100% Sangiovese, long maceration on skins, fully fermented in stainless steel temperature controlled tanks. As an unoaked style its bursting with bright red fruits, raspberry, blueberry, red cherry, juicy and generous on the palate.
Lovely easy sipper and a good introduction to the fruitier style of Italian reds.
