Amaren Rioja Reserva

Outstanding deep and full bodied Rioja Reserva.

Amaren wines come from small plots owned by the Canas family located on slopes and terraces with low yielding old vines in the Rioja region. Amaren wines are only produced in good vintages, always hand-picked with utmost respect to the environment.

The Amaren Reserva is from 100% Tempranillo, all over 60-year old vines producing very low yields, destemmed and then sorted a second time individual berry sorted by weight. Fermented in French oak & matured in all new French oak for 18 months, lightly clarified.

Brooding deep savoury nose, bitter chocolate, toasted sourdough, roasted nuts and vanilla. Warm, fully and spicy palate. Lively palate with cinnamon and nutmeg with blueberry compote, dried figs, very rich ripe tannins. Recommended minimum of 2 hours decanting before serving, will continue to evolve for 5-10 years.
