Te Mata Mushrooms offer organic mushrooms that are exposed to sunlight to enrich their Vitamin D content naturally (no additives).

INGREDIENTS: Mushrooms 100%.

While it may appear that the vitamin D content is “added" the food is not fortified – Vitamin D is naturally produced by mushrooms when exposed to sunlight or UV light and all wild or field grown mushrooms will contain a small amount. However, commercially mushrooms are grown indoors and are not exposed to sunlight inhibiting their ability to produce Vitamin D unless a UV light source is introduced.
