New Zealand Kawakawa Pounamu (Greenstone) Hei Matau (Hook) Necklace. Approx 45mm x 30mm. This piece has a polished finish and is a dark green colour with lighter flecks through the stone. Comes on an adjustable slip knot black waxed cord.

Kawakawa pounamu is a rich intense dark green with small dark inclusions. It gets its name from the kawakawa leaf or pepper tree.

The Hook or Hei Matau is believed to bring prosperity, good health and safe travel across water.

This piece is created by Jeremy Dalzell who is born and breed on the wild west coast of New Zealand and has been carving Jade since 2000. He developed a passion for carving at a young age while finding jade pebbles on the west coast beaches with his family. Jeremy is a self-taught carver who gives his personal assurance of commitment to the quality of his work and no pieces of his work are the same.
