The whole bed is made of solid American Cherry wood. Only the slates are made of an unknown species solid wood.

This is an antique reproduction, only one, was copied from an antique furniture book using very hard and expensive American Cherry wood, finished in the traditional Oil, Shellac and Wax way, with an aged look.
