The Golden Kowhai pattern background represents one of the Tui’s favourite nectar loving flowers & is also a magnificent native tree in its own right, especially in full bloom. The kōwhai flower is especially desirable to tui – who will fly great distances to sample its delicious nectar. Because of their personality, the Tui are associated with life fulfilment, confidence and spiritual harmony. In Māori culture the Tui has powerful significance.
