Olivem 900 Sorbitan Olivate olive oil emulsifier
Sorbitan Olivate is also known by the brand name "Olivem 900" is an easy to use, non-ionic emulsifier developed from natural olive derivatives. It is an water-in-oil emulsifier, dispersing agent and thickener which is compatible with a wide variety of cosmetic and active ingredients over a wide pH range (3 to 12).
Olivem 900 may be used for making creams, lotions, exfoliating creams, facial and body scrubs and face masks.
Typically used at 2 - 5% on the total weight of the formulation. Needs to be melted and emulsified with the oils and waxes at about 65 - 75 C, then vigourously mixed whilst being added to the water phase. A stick mixer is ideal for creating emulsions with Olivem 900.
