Dicetyl Dimonium Chloride - Conditioner & Anti-Static

Dicetyl Dimonium Chloride (DDC) is a conditioning active ingredient used mostly in hair care, for conditioners, setting lotions, detangling sprays, hair masques and hair treatments. It is a cationic quaternary ammonium salt - which means that it is substantive (holds onto) hair and skin. Its use in conditioners, treatments and cream rinses improves both wet and dry combing, plus it also reduces static electricity.
DDC also finds use as a topical antiseptic and a preservative due to its ability to inhibit the growth of microorganisms. It can also be used as a surfactant (for cleansing and emulsifying) and a suspending agent.

It can also be used as a fabric softener and anti-static agent for laundry uses.
Recommended Usage Rates:

- Rinse off products like conditioners, setting lotions, treatments : 0.25 - 10%

- Leave on products like antiseptic creams, leave-in detanglers : 0.25% - 5
