Root zone temp will vary depending on the surface you place the heat pad on and the ambient temperature.

Add our digital thermometers to your order to allow monitoring of the heat of your growing medium. Overheating your plants can result in crop failure.

The temperature should be 19°C - 24°C for tomatoes, tobacco and most other plants but if you are raising hot chili seeds then they like 30°C. If too hot, place a spacer between the pad and your tray, to obtain the desired temperature. Don't cover the heat pad entirely as the heat must be allowed to diffuse.

Do not use the Heat Pad in the following ways:

- Crease or fold it.
- Rip, cut or split it.
- Do not completely cover it with insulation or padding.
- Do not submerge in water.
