Lovely Hei Matau in a much sought-after style carved in our studio from Hapopo Pounamu.

The Hei Matau represents strength and good health, luck and abundance, gives protection for travellers especially over water; and is considered a good luck charm for anyone with an affinity with the sea.

Pounamu or Greenstone is regarded as a stone sacred to the gods by the Māori of New Zealand. As a Taonga -meaning treasured, and it should be worn with respect and pride. Pounamu is a gift from the heart.
