Blue Star Fern

Phlebodium aureum Or the Blue star fern, is an absolute favourite of ours! With its funky, long wavy wild leaves and stunning colouring, they will look fabulous in any room. It is a very easy fern to care for making it a fabulous choice for beginners.

Light: Low to medium indoor filtered. Can tolerate lower light levels but will create a ‘leggier’ plant.

Temp: The prefers a warm temperature (14˚C-27˚C) and a humid environment. It will not tolerate fluctuating temps or drafts.

Water: Water the outer soil of your ferns pot (it doesn’t like water being poured directly into its rhizome/centre) when the top 3cm of your soil has dried out, or if your pot feels light.

Humidity : Mist daily (as regularly as possible).

Soil: A well-draining soil mix is recommended such as an orchid or bark mix.

Feed: Every month during growing season (Spring-Autumn).

Tips: If your plant dries out and goes brown snip back dead fronds to base and keep water & misting up - new growth will appear.
