Montbeliarde

A seasonal cheese from the skilled cheesemakers at Mahoe Farmhouse Cheese in Kerikeri. This cheese is compared to a young French Comte'style. Exhibiting a semi firm texture with a sweet fruit flavour and background nutty notes. This is a gorgeous cheese based on the alpine styles of France and aged for a minimum of 5 months to bring out the warming flavours in the cheese.

Pair with:

Great with a pear, or apple based fruit paste, or quince paste.

Wine / Beer match:

Pair with a aromatic white wine with mild to low acidity. Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay (Chablis style) will work best.
