Snapper Gyotaku
![Seafish: Snapper Gyotaku Seafish: Snapper Gyotaku](/i/theartfultrout.vendo.co.nz/images/products/00018-1_MD.jpg?t=1731091555)
Gyotaku is the traditional Japanese method of printing fish, a practice that dates back to the mid-1800s. This form of nature printing was used by fishermen to record their catches but has also become an art form of its own. I used the Gyotaku method on a snapper that I caught.
How this image was created: I photographed the Snapper and then painted it black, then made my rice paper rubbing and photographed the result. In photoshop, I merged the Gyotaku result with the photograph of the fish.
