Stress Hormone testing is usually warranted where a person has experienced extreme stress levels over time. The type of testing needed depends on the symptoms.

A simple blood draw at SCL labs can determine the 8am cortisol level which is the most important indicator of adrenal fatigue and therefore indicates the risk of burn out, at a cost of around $30 to the lab directly. However sometimes knowing the pattern of cortisol throughout the day can reveal more information and in terms of chronic sleep issues – knowing the melatonin level can also indicate whether this hormone is responsible for the ongoing sleep difficulties.

We therefore recommend the following tests if either of these scenarios mean we want to know before we continue to treat, so that we can treat accordingly.
