Californian poppy is a safe yet effective sedative for those times when sleep seems to allude you. It is also useful for any pains within the nervous system. The alkaloids are the main constituents which pass through the blood brain barrier. It is related botanically to the red opium poppy but the alkaloids are quite different and it is not classified as a narcotic.
