What is hojicha?
Hojicha is made from the same leaves as matcha but are roasted. A great alternative to coffee and for those who have a low caffeine tolerance.
Why use hojicha?
Perfect for you if you struggle with coffee and needing an alternative! Hojicha has a lower amount of naturally occurring caffeine, and has antioxidants and l'theanine - this lessens the side effects normally associated with coffee such as anxiety and restlessness. It’s also a great natural food colouring and commonly seen in baked goods and desserts. The smokey caramel flavour is one you start to crave and great for an afternoon tea.
