Lung Ching translates to "Dragon Well". The name originates from a local legend in the village where the tea is grown, near Hangzhou, China. According to the legend, there was a well in the village where a dragon was believed to reside.
During a drought, villagers prayed to the dragon for rain, and their prayers were answered. The tea produced in the area was named after this well, symbolizing the mystical and beneficial qualities of the dragon.
In order to protect the long leaves against breaking it is dried by hand in wide pans to a maximum of 80 degrees Celsius. The result is a very light, soft and sweet-fruity tea with the unique taste of Chinese green tea.
