Application Instructions for SUPERthrive Pro-Tekt :

Add Pro-TeKt (1 mL to 3 litres) to a bucket, then add 3⁄4 of the intended volume of water (2.25L if using 3 litres). Add Bonsai Pro (if using) and top off with the remaining volume of water. Submerge your bonsai in the bucket of water until bubbles stop rising. Repeat 1 week later if stressful conditions persist.

Combine SUPERthrive Pro-Tekt with SUPERthrive Bonsai Pro to ensure total bonsai health. While Bonsai Pro supplies most nutrients, Pro-Tekt contains silicone and extra potassium to strengthen plant cell walls. Use Bonsai Pro weekly/bi-weekly, but use Pro-Tekt in times of stress such as frost, heatwaves, disease, or during pest infestations.

Because a very high pH is required to keep Pro-TeKt concentrate in solution, it is important to fully dilute it before adding other SUPERthrive concentrates which have low pH. Mixing the two concentrates without first diluting them will turn Pro-TeKt into a lump of silica gel. Do no apply Pro-Tekt too frequently as this will raise the pH of your bonsai soil.

Why Not Combine Bonsai-Pro & Pro-Tekt? Because of the massive pH difference between Bonsai-Pro and Pro-Tekt, they turn to silica gel when combined (without a large amount of water). Keeping the products separate also gives more control to the grower who can use each formula for their intended purpose. For example, Pro-Tekt is only used when a plant is stressed. Repeated applications of Pro-Tekt will cause soil pH to rise and effect tree health. For this reason Pro-Tekt isn't combined with Bonsai-Pro.
