Maori Bone Manaia Protector Heru Comb
This Maori Bone Manaia Heru Comb is a beautiful piece of carving, with an intricately detailed Manaia at the top of the heru.
Measuring approximately 15.5cm ( 6 1/8") long, the sturdy cow bone hair comb has 3 prongs.
The manaia is the Maori spiritual guardian, a provider and protector over land, sea, and air. It is believed to ward off danger and protect you from intruders.
It is often carved with a bird-like head, signifying the air, and scales to represent the sea. The three fingers on its hand signify the cycles of man - birth, life and death.
The manaia heru comes to you in a black box.
