Paua Blue Maori Korowai with Patiki Taniko
This beautiful handmade Paua Blue Maori Korowai (Maori feather cloak) has a Royal Blue/Turquoise/Black/White Patiki Taniko at the top. The patiki design represents the flounder, and signifies abundance and hospitality.
The Korowai is made by a lovely Maori lady of Ngati Porou descent.
Please note that the correct Maori name for it is kahu huruhuru, but many people, including Maori, still call it a korowai.
Feathers used are white at the top, and then a mix of turquoise, green and royal blue to give that paua look. The inside of the korowai is lined with black fabric. The cloak is sewn on a sewing machine, making it affordable.
