Khorasan rugs originated from the Khorasan province in Iran which is the ancient province of Iran. There are two major cities of weaving carpet Harat and Mashad in the province. Before made eighteen century Khorasan rugs are still preserved in museums throughout the world by a handful of collectors. There are more weaving places like Azhgand, Sabzevar, Birjand, Gonabad and Dorokasg in Khorasan.
