Medium New Zealand greenstone roimata with a koru carved in the body. This is a beautiful dark piece of greenstone with a little Marsden Flower greenstone at the top

The koru is a symbol of new life, growth, peace and strength and imitates an unfurling fern frond.

Marsden Flower Greenstone comes from the Marsden area of the West Coast of New Zealand. The gold and white coloured variegation in the piece is called "flower" and makes this type of greenstone particularly valued and distinctive.

This pendant was hand carved on the west coast of the South Island, New Zealand, by Jeremy.
