Wood Stabilizing Solutions represents a premium, professional-grade, heat-cured resin meticulously designed for the stabilization and fortification of wood and other porous materials. This resin formulation boasts a non-toxic, non-flammable, and solvent-free composition, resulting in a remarkable 99.99% weight-based conversion from liquid to solid upon curing. Its exceptional characteristics elevate it above conventional home stabilizing solutions. Particularly proficient with the delicate nuances of exquisite, punky, and spalted woods, it addresses the challenges posed by their inherent softness, offering an unparalleled solution for professional applications.
Shipped unactivated resin with the activator in a separate pack. Activated Stabilizing Resin has a shelf life of 8-12 months.
Steps:
- Wood must be thoroughly dried (moisture content below 10%, preferably 0%).
- Place the wood blocks into a vacuum chamber and weigh them down.
- Introduce the stabilizing solution, ensuring complete coverage of the wood blocks.
- Evacuate the air until all bubbles are entirely eliminated.
- Open the vacuum chamber and immerse the wood for a duration twice as long as the vacuum process.
- If necessary, a pressure pot can be used for enhanced results.
- Remove the wood blocks and wrap them securely in aluminum foil.
- Place the wrapped blocks into an oven set at a temperature between 120-130°C, with the duration varying based on the size of the wood blocks (60-120 minutes).
- Retrieve the wood blocks from the oven and allow them to cool to room temperature before use.
How to Store:
- Keep below 35° C at all times, cold and dry place is better.
- Keep out of direct sunlight.
- Exposure to elevated temperature may cause material to harden.
- Shelf life: Unactivated: 2 years, Activated: 8-12 months.
- Store your excess resin for the next use
- For safety: Avoid storing in hermetically sealed glass or PET plastic containers.
1 Pack include 1x 1kg Resin and 1x 2g activator. Liquid dyes can be added if need.
