Kawakawa Pounamu Koru Pendant Large

This elegant Koru carving was lovingly crafted by our artisans at our Karangahape studio. The Kawakawa piece is bound with a dark brown coloured 4-cord adjustable braid.

The thickness of this stone tapers towards the edges, making very lightweight, and comfortable to wear, it also sits quite flat when worn.

Dimensions: 48mm diameter, 9mm thickness

The Koru shape:

The koru, inspired by the unfurling fern frond, is a powerful Māori symbol of new life, beginnings, and hope. Representing life’s perpetual motion and connection to origins, the koru is deeply rooted in nature and Māori culture. Found in traditional Māori art and design, the koru embodies nurturing, harmony, and a deep connection to loved ones, family, and Papatūānuku (Mother Earth), making it a meaningful gift for new chapters in life.
