A large, slick and beautifully bound Toki, hand carved by Ric Moor.

carved from a lovely, raw piece of New Zealand Jade. It is a beautiful deep, milky green colour with a few characteristic variations in the stone. View the photos to appreciate the beauty!

The neck cord is a 4-plait black cord which can be adjusted with a couple of slip knots.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
