This exquisite Toki is carved from local New Zealand Marsden jade and bound with an adjustable 4-plait olive green cord. A beautiful piece to wear and handle - this will add an imposing piece to your collection.

The toki, or adze, is a symbol of strength. The adze was a key survival tool, so the owner of a good one was believed to be strong and powerful. They were used to carve ocean-going waka (sea canoes) and to build central meeting houses so they played a central role in traditional life of māori.

The toki is traditionally worn for strength and courage - to assist through life's challenges.
