This tote bag project includes skills such as cutting out a pattern, following a lay plan to cut out fabric, sewing straight seams, top stitching, pressing, and turning fabric through to make handles.

We have chosen a durable fabric that is not too sturdy which we think is a great weight for a beginner to work with. The resulting tote will be a soft enough to fold away, but sturdy enough to be a general workhorse.
