Use:

KNITWEAR: Strengthen cuffs and welts in knitwear by threading through the ribbing on the hem or cuff of a knitted sweater to give the rib more elasticity.
GATHERING: Gather the fullness in soft fabrics by applying on a sleeve or at the waist of a garment.
