- This whakatauki is a celebration of the Polynesian heritage of Aotearoa. This proverb speaks of identity and connection to the Pacific. Aotearoa is the name given by Kupe's wife as they travelled through the Pacific Ocean to the islands of the Land of the Long White Cloud.
