Moominpappa at Sea

Special Collectors' Edition, lovingly restored to its original stunning design. Moominpappa yearns to make a fresh start, to find a rocky island and lighthouse where he'll feel alert and important again. And so the Moomins set sail for a new home. Moominpappa's longed-for-island proves as mysterious and wild and he'd hoped. It even has a deserted lighthouse. But how is Moominmamma to grow her flowers and what could have happened to the last keeper of the lighthouse?

Author bio:

The Finnish artist and author Tove Jansson (1914-2001) wrote and illustrated her first Moomin story, The Moomins and the Great Flood , in 1945 as a form of escape from the dark shadows of war. The publication of Comet in Moominland , introducing readers to the much loved Snufkin, Snork and the Snork maiden, launched the world famous series of Moomin novels, the eight titles of which would be translated into over 60 languages and remain in print for over six decades. Tove Jansson lived in Helsinki and a tiny island in the Gulf of Finland which she shared with her life partner, the graphic artist, Tuulikki Pietila.
