. Inspired by New Zealand Flax with its sword-shaped leaves, known by the Maori name harakeke.
Flax has always been an important plant in New Zealand, especially among Maori. The plant provided food and medicine, the leaves were woven into mats, nets and building materials, and the fibre was harvested and woven into clothing.
An original piece of glass art. Excellently suited as a collector's item or interior design centrepiece. Handblown by award-winning glass artist Lynden Over in his Lava Glass Studio in Taupo, New Zealand. Signed and dated by the artist.
