Kiwi Classics

The kiwi is a unique and curious bird, belonging to an ancient group of flightless birds known as ratites. It is the national icon of New Zealand and unofficial national emblem.

All species of kiwi are under threat and as many as 95% of kiwi chicks born outside of pest controlled areas do not survive past six months.

New Zealanders have been called 'Kiwis' since the nickname was bestowed by Australian soldiers in the First World War.

This new collection allows me to explore the fun there is to be had with language, symbolism and entrenched beliefs in a quirky, humorous way.
