Hydrangea macrophylla 'Merveille Sanguine'

This cultivar is also known as 'Raspberry Crush' or 'Bloody Marvellous'. It is a stunning deciduous shrub with large, mophead flowers that are a deep pink or pink/ purple when planted in acidic soil. The flowers are crimson/ red if planted in soil with a neutral PH. The leaves are a beautiful dark red in autumn. Grows to approximately 1 metre tall and wide. Blooms from summer through autumn. Prefers well-drained, humus-rich soil and a sheltered position.
