- Pour water into a container, sift small amounts of Plaster of Paris onto it
- Mix gently with a spatula until all lumps are gone
- Tap the sides to release air bubbles
- The plaster is ready to pour into a mould when the mixture has a smooth, even consistency and a light grey colour Handy hints:

- For mixing, use approx. 1 part water to 2 parts plaster, however this will vary with temperature of water used and prevailing weather conditions
- Never use bare hands to mix or stir plaster, wear gloves

- Water should always be added to the mixing tray first then sprinkle or sift plaster into the water in small quantities and gently mix with a spatula.
- Tap sides to vibrate and release air bubbles. When the mixture is a smooth, even consistency and a uniform light grey colour it is ready to pour into mould.
