Eminently collectable French antique hand blown glass in wire lattice protection, (now a little distressed).
The pewter lid and spout bear the manufacture's name L Gilles Paris, The patent for the design was registered in 1859. The lower part contained water whilst the top part held a mixture of Bicarbonate of Soda and Tartaric Acid. Pressing the trigger combined the two, resulting in carbonated water also known as soda water or selzer.
