I pass these mountains on the way to Central Otago when we go to the snow. After thirty years of looking, I decided to paint them.

Justin Summerton is an established mid-career artist and surfer who lives with his family in Dunedin. He captures the beauty and isolation of the landscape and has a distinct brushstroke technique which often results in a thick, layered effect.
