ethiopia ahmed filter

We're thrilled to showcase our latest coffee release, sourced with a great effort by LCM (Langdon Coffee Merchants) directly from small-scale Ethiopian producers, the Abatemam brothers. Located near renowned washing stations in Agaro, their 35-hectare farm is a lush forest at 2050 meters above sea level, boasting diverse flora, including an impressive shade tree - Albizia.

The Abatemam brothers, led by Ahmed, Dome, and Kalid, employ a collaborative approach to coffee production. Their honey-processing method, a rustic tradition, preserves the fruit mucilage for a fuller flavor and mellower acidity compared to washed coffees. During harvest, only ripe cherries are handpicked, then pulped without water. The seeds are sun-dried for up to 10 days on raised African beds, using only natural methods, ensuring no chemical contamination.

At eighthity we fell in love with the quality of this lot and found flavors of complex citrus, peach ice tea, bergamot and red fruit
