Introducing the first instalment of our eighthirty black label limited run coffees.
eighthirty black label is a series of seasonal, micro-lot coffees selected for their high quality and unique flavour profiles. These coffees will showcase hand-picked coffees from a small, carefully-selected section of a single farm with specific microclimates.
These coffees will only be available in small batches. The limited quantity allows for greater attention to detail in the harvesting, processing, and roasting stages resulting in a one-of-a-kind flavour profile.
Our first coffee is the colombia caturrón exotic spices - filter
JoseÌ Giraldo of CafeÌ 1959 is a young, 3rd generation coffee farmer who is extremely passionate about bringing science, technology and coffee together to produce high quality specialty coffee.
CafeÌ 1959 has not always been producing specialty coffee. In fact, JoseÌ and his family have only been producing specialty coffee for the last 6 years. In this time, thanks to technology, science and perseverance, JoseÌ and his family are now exporting their award winning coffee around the world.
JoseÌ is constantly experimenting with new processes and collaborates with fellow coffee farmers where they share processing methods and farming practices to not only produce better coffee himself but so that his friends and neighbours do too. Swapping information in any part of the coffee chain leads to innovation, connection and better quality coffee.
This coffee was processed in a Carbonic Maceration Natural Yeast Fermentation during 60 Hours. Slow sun dried and then a stabilisation period of 3 months in a controlled warehouse.
This varietal is a really rare varietal not found easily in Colombia. The name caturroÌn came from a tradition in Spanish to add the âONâ to the end of a name when something is bigger then usual, and this "Caturra" had bigger cherries than the other ones, so it was named CaturrON.
This coffee has high acidity and is beautifully balanced by the sweetness from the honey like agave mezcal notes. Hints of jalapeño and olive will subtlety roll over your tongue and the overarching umami silky mouth feel elevates the drinking experience to have you going back for more.
This coffee is a completely rare experience in the cup, you will find things you may have never tried before.
We only have 100 bags of this coffee so don't wait.
