This coffee was grown by at his farm, Las Terrazas, which he and his wife Juliana purchased after many years of hard work. A coffee lover since childhood, Wbeimar is an ago-industrial engineer and coffee grower, who won the National Cup Tasters championship in 2009. Wbeimar and Juliana spent time focusing on learning about specialty coffee, and have since mastered various practices improving yield, quality and flavour of their coffees, growing rare and high quality varieties with excellent results.
The couple now share their knowledge with the local community and work collaboratively with local farmers to support their neighbours and enable others to grow high quality coffees.
Wbeimar harvests this coffee following strict ripeness criteria, which is then floated and hand-sorted to remove any defects. The cherries then spend 30 hours underwater fermenting before being pulped, then washed gently and dried in temperature controlled conditions until ideal moisture content is achieved.
In 2015, the team at Cofinet crossed paths with Wbeimar and were instantly captivated by his commitment to coffee. This led to the beginning of a fruitful relationship in 2018, when they started purchasing his exceptional coffees. This strong bond has enabled them to offer Wbeimar’s coffee to their global clientele. The variety
This particular micro-lot is composed entirely of the Gesha variety. Originating from Abyssinia, Ethiopia in 1931, this variety found its way to Panama and has since become renowned for its unique flavour profile. The careful cultivation and processing methods employed at Las Terrazas truly bring out the best in this exceptional variety. Filter Recipe
