2018 Roccolo Grassi Valpolicella Superiore Caros Wines NZ

An incredible-quality Valpolicella red. 30% of the grapes have been air-dried in the Roman method to concentrate the flavours, a mini Amarone except this fruit is selected and dried specially for this. None of their Amarone is made from these vines, so all their quality juice flows straight into this rich but bright, structured and complex wine. Surely one of the best 'Superiores' on the planet, this frequently wins the coveted Tre Bicchieri award in the Gambero Rosso.
