Pearl Polyester fibrefill

Pearl fibre fill is a polyester hollow fibre that has been formed into pearl shaped balls. When the technique was originally developed many in the upholstery trade described it as "Synthetic Down".

Why balls and not just normal teased fibre? The effect of having the fibre processed this way  helps it maintain its loft for a longer period. Instead of the fibres matting together the balls tend to slide around each other creating a more forgiving shape that is easily plumped and maintained.
