- Michelle thought this scene was not only a stunning NZ landscape but also contained a bit of humour with the kiwi long-drop securely wired down. Ball Hut stands beside a steep moraine wall and is subject to avalanches and has been rebuilt numerous times. A slip over the recent years has made the journey beside the Haupapa/Tasman Galcier a bit more challenging to get to Ball Hut. With breathtaking views towards the Tasman Glacier, Ball Hut is a remarkable place to stay.
