With summer in full swing, we thought we’d brighten your week with a blazin’ hot box of beers from our good mates at Sunshine Brewing. It’s been a while since our last visit, which is awesome, because they have heaps of new summer brews for you to try.
Inspired by Gisborne’s notoriously long summers and legendary surf breaks, Sunshine is a boutique brewery from the East Coast that celebrates the important things in life: sun, surf, mates and good beer. Since 1989, they’ve been brewing top quality beers for top quality people....just like you!
Brewed for long hot summer days, you are going to love our latest release from Sunshine. Containing 12 different beers, this is one smashable box of beers that will bust any thirst! Included in your Blazin' Hot Sunshine Selection are the following 12 different brews;
6 x BIG SERVE 440ml

- 🌞NEW Sunrise 08 Cryo Mosaic Hazy Pale Ale (5.0%): Filled to the brim with Citra and Cryo Mosaic hops. Expect waves of citrus fruits and floral undertows. These two hops are the cornerstones of IPA, whether hazy or not.
- 🌞NEW West Coast Lager (5.0%): Build on a clean Pilsner base, we’ve loaded it with a power trio of sought-after hops – Citra, Mosaic, and Riwaka. True to traditional lager crafting, we’ve brewed it low and slow with Lager yeast, allowing it to mature through a month-long conditioning period for exceptional clarity and character.
- 🌞NEW Raspberry & Lime Margarita Sour (5.0%): An even balance between pilsner and wheat malts, brewed with Philly Sour yeast. This time around a small dose of salt with the familiar fruit additions. The raspberry and lime add a heap of flavour to balance the acid, and the salt keeps you coming back for more.
- 🌞NEW Red Beach IPA (6.0%): A triumphant return of a local favourite. Built on a rich foundation of toffee and caramel malts, we’ve selected three premium New Zealand hops – Waimea, Nectaron, and Superdelic – creating a perfectly balanced Red IPA that embodies true Kiwi character.
- 🌞Mexican Chilli Lager (5.0%): Back by huge popular demand! Made with local Gisborne corn, all malts and then sat to rest on Fire Dragon chillies from Northland. A refreshingly dry lager that has just a touch of fire and flavour from our mates up north.
- 🌞Schwarzbier German Dark Lager (5.0%): A classic German lager style, using a heavy dose of Munich malt for lovely melanoidins and fermented with Franconian Lager yeast. Bready, light roast, chocolate, and caramel flavours exude from this malty beverage, which is inherently more drinkable than a traditional dark ale. Plus 6 x 330ml RIPPERS

- 🌞No Access East Coast Hazy IPA (6.0%): A mash of barley, oats and wheat give a solid palate weight to allow the juicy swell of 3 aromatic hops to peak explosively in unison. Surges of tropical fruit and lime lead through to an easy bitterness and hazy goodness.
- 🌞Mexican Lager (5.0%): A Mexican lager made the Gisborne way, with a blend of Riwaka and Citra hops and locally grown maize. Crisp and refreshing with grapefruit and citrus aromas, it’s definitely worth crossing the border for.
- 🌞Gizzy Gold (3.8%): Enjoyed in the sun since 1989. We called it Gold because it came first. Part local legend, part New Zealand icon – Gisborne Gold is a lightly hopped drop with solid malt backbone guaranteed to quench any hard-earned thirst.
- 🌞Gizzy Green Pilsner (4.8%): Brewed for those wanting bigger flavour. Green has found a cult following amongst locals – and for good reason. Dry and crisp like a Gisborne summer, big citrusy hops play against each other in every flavour some drop.
- 🌞Mahia Pale Ale (5.0%): If you like medium bodied, easy to drink, golden pale ales, this one’s for you. Tropical fruit aromas over a sweet malt base makes this a go-to beer for every occasion.
- 🌞Pipeline Pilsner (5.0%): We threw together some Motueka, Riwaka and Nelson Sauvin hops to create a refreshingly modern Kiwi pilsner and the perfect palate cleanser after a long afternoon surfing The Pipe. Thanks for supporting local craft. We know you'll enjoy this awesome release!
