Native to much of north America, Monarda fistulosa is as its common names suggest particularly useful flowers for attracting many bee species. They are herbaceous perennials with showy summer to autumn-blooming flowers in shades of pink through to lavenders. Plants grow from creeping rhizomes, with erect flower stems up to 100cm. Flowers have a spicy sweet scent.

Plants grow best in full sun and moisture retentive soils. Plants will also self-seed readily.
