1: 200 1942 Dc-3 - Awesome Collectables

 
Douglas DC-3C-47 with a long and interesting life. Constructed in 1942 as a C47-DL she was sent overseas in 1943. After the war she was purchased by a former WWII pilot and nicknamed Betsy. In 1946 she became Cathay Pacific Airways first ever aircraft and registered as VR-HDB. After being sold in the 1950 she spent the best part of 30 years flying cargo in the Australian outback before being discovered and repurchased by Cathay Pacific. VR-HDB was then repainted in a 1940s CPA scheme and now hangs in the Science Museum of Hong Kong. Metal diecast with some plastic parts. Rotating props. Landing gear can be displayed up or down. Comes with a plastic display stand. Approx. 10cm x 14cm
