White Heron Spring Tour

Southern Alps lush rainforest, glaciers, gorgeous lakes, and spectacular coastlines combined with a unique opportunity to view some of New Zealand’s rare birds in their nesting season.

This is a tour for active and adventure-minded travelers who want to enjoy a range of optional short walks in “off the beaten track" places. This unique spring tour takes in a special chance to visit the White Heron Colony,a scenic boat tour on Okarito lagoon and get up close to the remarkable sight of Crested Grebes in their nesting area near Tekapo.

For those with a passion for photography, the lupins will be in full colour, and our final 2 nights in Geraldine are timed to include the local Arts and Plants Festival, with Wayne providing the local knowledge for you to get the best experience.

Our groups are small and personalized with spare seats in our vehicles, and we can easily stop for quick photos or short walks or just to explore this amazing region.
